The city of New Braunfels is the county seat of Comal County in Texas, USA. Located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country with rolling prairie lands, the city is spread over an area of 76.1 sq km and has a total population of around 37,000.
The semitropical climate in New Braunfels is conducive to outdoor activities. Summers are hot and dry with an average temperature of 30°C. Winters are mild with temperatures ranging from 3°C to 6°C. Fall and spring are comfortable.
Founded in 1845 by German settlers, the city’s heritage is visible in its museums and districts. The Historic District of Gruene is famous for its wine tasting and shopping.
The city has many tourist attractions, from the Guadalupe River to the number one water park in America, Schlitterbahn. Nature lovers can marvel at the largest caverns in Texas at Natural Bridge Caverns or enjoy a family safari at the adjacent wildlife ranch
