Tourist Guide Port Aransas
Port Aransas is a city in Texas, USA, located on the north end of Mustang Island between the Gulf of Mexico and Corpus Christi Bay. The city covers an area of 31.3 sq km and has a population of around 5,000.
The city has a subtropical climate. In summer, the average temperature is 32°C, while in winter the average temperature is 10°C. Due to its location in the semiarid region, Port Aransas receives very little rain.
What began as a sheep and cattle grazing station later became the town of Port Aransas. Formerly known as Ropesville and Tarpon, the name Port Aransas was officially adopted in 1911.
Port Aransas offers a breathtaking view of the sea and all the aquatic activities. With white sandy beaches and inviting waters, it is a popular destination for sunbathing, fishing, boating, parasailing and other water based activities. Its warm inviting atmosphere attracts tourists as well as migrating snowbirds.
