The Majestic Theatre is San Antonio's oldest and largest atmospheric theatre.
The theatre seats 2311 people and was designed by architect John Eberson for Karl Hoblitzelle's Interstate Theatres in 1929.
San Antonio has long been a center for musical innovation. Texans have pioneered musical developments in tejano music, punk rock, mariachi, country music and the blues. Famous Texan musicians and groups include Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Buck Owens, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, Hank Thompson, Ray Price, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Pantera, Selena Quintanilla, and ZZ Top.
