Located in the courthouse square in downtown San Marcos, the LBJ museum was open for public on Dec 6, 2006. The museum is named after and pays tribute to the 36th American President Lyndon Baines Johnson. It focuses on the formative years of the President as a student in Texas State University, San Marcos.
On exhibit now are approximately 150 items including old photographs, a book collection, local news clippings, paintings, miniature statues, local news clippings and various other artifacts including collection of pens used to sign important legislation.
