Shamrock city is situated in Wheeler County in Texas. Situated in South of Central Wheeler County, the city was the largest town in the county in late 1800s. The name of the city was given by an Irish immigrant, named George Nickel. It is situated in the east portion of the Texas Panhandle.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.1 square miles of land.
In 1930, the city population reached 3,778 people. As per the 2000 census, this city had a total population of 2,029 people. As of 2009, the population reached 1,830 people.
