The town of South Padre Island is situated in Texas, USA. This resort town is located on Padre Island in the Rio Grande Valley, and covers an area of 4.9 sq km.
The mild subtropical climate makes the island a perfect vacation destination. The summer temperature ranges from 25°C to 32°C. In winter, the temperature ranges from 11°C to 19°C.
The town is named in honour of Padre Jose Nicholas Balli, a Catholic missionary who established the first settlement on the island in 1804. Today, the town has a population of around 4,000.
The white sand and turquoise-blue waters, bundled with an inviting climate have made the town into a vacationer’s paradise. The beaches have some of the best conditions for water sports, while the terrain is conducive to golf.
South Padre Island is a popular destination with students who descend on the town during spring-break, for its party atmosphere and vibrant nightlife.
