Located in the Ward-Meade Park, the Old Prairie Town serves as the foremost attraction of the city. The park, overlooking the Kansas River, also includes the Victorian mansion of Anthony Ward, country schools and botanical gardens. The Brown v. Board Museum is an experiential museum which helps gain an understanding of the Supreme Court’s decision in 1954 on the Civil Rights Movement.

While in Topeka, one should make sure to have the famous Kansas beef in one the Steakhouses in the city.
Topeka hosts several festivals around the year which begins with the Kansas Day Celebration in January. Some of the most exciting and popular festivals are the Huff ’n’ Puff Balloon Rally and the Apple Festival.
