The city of Trenton is home to many historic sites such as the Battle Monument, located in the ‘Five Points’ area of the city. This 46-m high edifice was built to commemorate America’s victory in the first Battle of Trenton. Also, tour the New Jersey State House. Being one of the oldest in the nation, it boasts of a very beautiful interior.
Get transported to the colonial era with a visit to the 1719 William Trent House Museum. The New Jersey State Museum offers a large variety ranging from American paintings to a children’s theatre.
Trenton is famous for its pottery, china and fine porcelain by makers such as Lenox and Boehm, available at all major outlets in the city. Also, make sure to gorge on the delicious pizzas and hoagies in one of the restaurants in Trenton.
Festivals are a year-round feature in Trenton, beginning with the Martin Luther King Junior Celebrations, ultimately culminating in December with the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony.
