Tourist Guide American Fork
American Fork is a city located in Utah County, Utah, USA. American Fork is located below Mount Timpanogos in Utah County. The town was settled by Mormon pioneers who were on their way to Fort Provo in the summer of 1850. The town gets its name from one of the streams that run into Lake Utah. It is bordered by Utah Lake on the south and by the Wasatch Mountains to the east. American Fork is geographically placed at 40˚23’3”N and 111˚47’31”W. According to the United States Census Bureau, it has a total area of 7.5 square miles of land.
The population was 21,941 at the 2000 census. There were 5,934 households and 5,109 families residing in the city. The population density was 2,910.7 people per square mile. American Fork is a city of well-kept private homes, condominiums, and apartments. It has been continuously upgraded, with plans for further expansion underway.
