Blanding City is situated in San Juan County in the Four Corners area of the Colorado Plateau of Utah state, in U.S.A. It is rich with natural & archaeological resources. It was the most populated city in San Juan County at the 2000 census with a population of 3,162 people & presently 4000. A major percentage of its population has family ties with the Mormon settlers. It has a total area of 2.4 square miles with an elevation of 6,036 feet above sea level. Blanding city is cooler year around at an elevation of about 6,000 feet whereas the Four Corners area has a pleasant climate (low humidity & warm temperatures). Average low temperature in winter is 36.3°F & the average snowfall is 11.3 inches. In summer, the average temperature may be 63.6°F. The average rainfall of Blanding is 13.4 inches.
