The San Juan River is a main source for the Colorado River, 644km long and it rises in southern Colorado. The river joins Colorado at Lake Powell. This river meanders through Goosenecks. The recreational activities here are whitewater rafting, fishing, hiking & camping especially in summer. The San Juan River below the Navajo dam has a major trout fishing section.
