Brigham is a city situated in Box Elder County, Utah. This city had a major growth during the 1950s and 1960s. Mormon Pioneer William Davis discovered the city in 1850. The city lies on the slope of Wellsville Mountains at the western end of Box Elder Canyon and is located at 41º30’37”North 112º0’54West. According to the 2000 census, the city had a population of 17,450. The city covers a total area of 14.3 square miles out of which 0.14% constitutes water. This city has heavy snowfall in winter averaging around 127 cm and during summer, it is very hot with relatively low humidity and low temperatures at night. The city has 91% of White origin, 0.24% of African American origin, 1.7% Native American and rest are Asian, Pacific Islanders and other races making the entire racial makeup of the Brigham City. The headquarters of ATK Thiokol is in Brigham City which created the solid rocket boosters for Space Shuttle. Brigham City is known for its festival called Peach Days, which is celebrated annually on the weekend after Labor Day. Peach Days is celebrated by parade, car shows, carnival and many other interesting activities.
