Castle Dale is situated in Emery County in the state of Utah. Castle Dale is part of the Emery County. The city is located on Cottonwood Creek. The town was founded in 1875 by Cattleman Orange Seely. Castle Dale is geographically placed at 39˚12’57”N 111˚1’15”W. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.9 square miles.The city had a population of 1,657 at the 2000 census. There were 508 households and 420 families residing in the city. The population density was 887.5 people per square mile.

Castle Dale has settled into a more stable community with a population more than double of that of its historic level. The Castle Dale community consists of 95%25 Whites, 0.5%25 African American, 0.6%25 Native American and some Asian and Pacific Islanders with other non noticeable races.
