Monticello is a city that is located in the San Juan County, Utah, United States of America. The city is surrounded by Denver in the east, Las Vegas in the west, Salt Lake City in the north and Phoenix in the south.
The city is located at an elevation of 2155 meter above the sea level. According to the 2000 census, the population of the city was recorded to be around 1,958. But the population has been increasing ever since.
The population here is quite high as compared to its small area. According to the American Census Bureau, the town is supposed to have a total area of just about 2.6 square miles out of which 100 percent is covered by land.
The common industries over here providing employment to the residents include agriculture, construction, educational services and most importantly public administration.
The climate here is cool because of its location way away from the equator. The average temperature is about 15 to 20 degrees in most part of the year.
