Provo is the county seat of Utah County in Utah, USA. Located between the Wasatch Mountains and Utah Lake, the city covers an area of 108.2 sq km.
Provo enjoys a moderate climate. The average summer temperature is 24°C, while the average winter temperature is –1°C. Spring and fall are comfortable and bring out the colours of the city.
With a population of 115,000, the city has become a commercial and agricultural centre of Utah.
Provo’s most famous landmark is the Brigham Young University, the largest church affiliated university in the country. The university is a cultural and sports centre and is an integral part of the community.
The surrounding mountains with its beautiful alpine scenery are conducive to hiking, biking and fishing. The Sundance Ski Resort attracts a large number of visitors during winter. Other natural attractions of the city are the Mt Timpanogos Cave National Monument and Bridal Veil Falls.
