For visitors coming to Sandy the Salt Lake International Airport is the nearest international airport which is about eighteen miles from the city. The nearest bus terminal is the Greyhound Bus Terminal and the nearest railway station is the Amtrak train station which is about twelve miles from the city.
There are airport shuttles offered by the larger and well known hotels, or cabs are available outside the airport as well, which provide easy accessibility to the city. Sandy has a number of buses and a service called TRAX which has helped in reducing congestion of traffic within the city.
The twenty four km line of this subway runs between the Delta Center in Salt Lake City to the southern region of Sandy and there are sixteen stations on the way. There is an extension which helps to connect to the downtown area of the University of Utah and another extension which is scheduled to be done by the end of the year 2008.
