Sandy Museum is a historical museum which was built in 1987 and has been shifted to the old Oregon Trail from Sandy City Hall where it was previously located. The museum displays several artifacts from the historical past of the town. Buttercup Park is a municipal park which has an outdoor pavilion, a jogging trail, tennis courts, basketball courts, softball field and more. Hansen House is ancient Victorian building built in the year 1887 and now serves as a bed and breakfast venue. The structure also features on the National Historic Register. The city of Sandy is situated in Salt Lake County in Utah, USA. It covers an area of 57.9 sq km and has a population of around 90,000.
Incorporated in 1893, Sandy was one of the first settlements by Mormon pioneers. Sandy was named for the sandy soil which lies under much of the city.
Sandy has a semi-arid, temperate climate. Summers are warm and dry with an average temperature of 23°C, while winters have an average temperature of –1°C. Spring and fall are moderate, both having an average temperature of 10°C.
