Tourist Guide Snowbird
Snowbird is an unincorporated area which is situated in Little Cottonwood Canyon in Utah in United States. This city is located in the Wasatch Range of the Rocky Mountains in the Salt Lake County. This place is popular for the Snowbird ski resort opened in 1971, a snowboarding and an alpine skiing area. The place was conceived, named and was developed by Ted Johnson.
Its top elevation is 11,000 feet with base elevation of 7,760 feet. The skiable area here is 2,500 acres with total 89 runs. It receives 500 inches of snowfall and is spread over 4,700 acres with vertical drop of 3,240 feet.
Snowbird is also a multi facility summer and winter resort which is situated in Little Cottonwood Canyon. This place was initially known for its sports activities of skiing and snowboarding. However, presently, it even hosts mountain biking, and other outdoor sports. With year round ski resort, this place is almost 29 miles from Salt Lake International Airport.
