Tourist Guide Tropic

The town of Tropic is situated in Garfield County in Utah, USA. Located just below Bryce Canyon National Park, the town covers an area of 21.8 sq km and has a population of around 1,000.

The climate in Tropic is severe. Summer can be scorching with an average temperature of 22°C. In winter, the temperatures fall below freezing point to an average of –6°C.

The original settlers of the town came from Panguitch and named their new community Tropic because of the mild climate as compared to Panguitch.  

Tropic is located in the scenic Bryce Valley. It provides ample recreational and sightseeing opportunities. Rock climbing, hiking and biking are some of the popular activities.

The Pioneer Village Model, an authentic recreation of the lifestyle and culture of the original inhabitants, is a popular local attraction. Due to its proximity to the Bryce Canyon National Park, tourism is a major contributor to the town’s economy.
