Tourist Guide Vernal

Vernal is the seat of Uintah County in Utah, USA. Located in the Ashley Valley, the city covers an area of 11.9 sq km. It is bordered by the Uinta Mountains to the north, the Book Cliff Mountains to the south and the Blue Mountains to the east.

Vernal has a semi-arid climate with low humidity. Summers are dry and hot with temperatures ranging from 31°C to 11°C. Winter temperatures range from 16°C to –1°C. In spring and fall, the temperatures are moderate.

The area now known as Vernal was a barren cactus flat land known as Bench. Today, Vernal has a population of around 10,000 with agriculture, livestock and tourism as the major industries.

Nestled in the midst of beautiful mountains, rivers and deserts, Vernal has a colourful landscape. It acts as a base for visiting the Dinosaur National Monument. The Flaming George National Recreation Area is a great place to observe nature while having a thrilling ride down the Green River.
