The Jordan Landing mixed-use development is the focal point of retail development and is one of the largest shopping centres in Utah. As of the 2000 Census, the city had a population of 68,336; by 2005, West Jordan had an estimated population of 91,444, placing it as the fourth most populated city in the state.
