Situated in Windsor County in the south-central part of Vermont, USA, the town of Ludlow covers an area of 92.5 sq km and has a population of around 10,000. Surrounded by forests, farmlands and granite quarries in the Black River valley, the town resembles an English hamlet and is an ideal place for an active mountain vacation.
Incorporated in 1761, the agricultural community gradually industrialized by harnessing power from the Black River for the woollen mills.
Ludlow has a moderate climate with warm summers and mild winters. The average summer temperature is 22°C, while the average winter temperature is –5°C.
The Okemo Mountain Ski Area is one of the many attractions in Ludlow that facilitates adventure activities. Other activities include hiking, cycling and biking on the rugged terrain. The ponds and rivers not only add to the beauty of the town but also provide fishing and swimming opportunities.
