Proctor is a town situated in Rutland County of Vermont, United States. Proctor has been awarded as “The Marble Capital of the United States”. It is home of the Vermont Marble Company established in 1880.The town of Proctor is located at a height of 482 ft from the ground and covers an area of 7.6 sq miles. According to the census of 2000, the population was 1,877. The total area of Proctor is 19.7 km. Proctor’s population density was 95.9 per km.In 1730 the city of Proctor was found, when the first white man visited the Sutherland Falls. It is one of the most favourite tourist places. Proctor has Native Americans, Africans, and Whites, Latino, Asian and other races. Proctor has farmland which comprises of ten square miles of rolling hills. Proctor city was famous for its Wilson Castle and English castle built in the 19th century.
