Waitsfield can be visited throughout the year as there is no shortage of activities in any season.
Waitsfield Public Library is a paradise for book lovers. Each year in March, Annual NATO Telemark Festival is held at the Mad River Glen.
In the summer months, the river can be used for swimming, fishing and canoeing. Visitors should pack appropriate clothing depending upon the season of their visit.
Carrying extra pair of clothes and shoes always helps when you are visiting a riverside area.
Although the crime rate of the place is far below than average of the state, one should still be careful when visiting new areas. It also helps to carry a map of the location and a tourist guidebook, if possible.
