Chantilly is considered as an unincorporated community located in Fairfax County to the southeastern Loudoun County of North Virginia. The community population was 41,041 as of the 2000 census. Chantilly is also named after the town with the same name in France.
During the Civil War, the battle of Chantilly took place. Although most of the Ox Hill battlefield is covered with residential and commercial development, there is a small county park which still preserves five acres of portion of the battle site.
The climate of the city is warm during summer season and the temperatures scores high with 70 degrees Fahrenheit. The winters are cold with temperature of 30 degrees Fahrenheit. July month is warm with 87.40 degrees Fahrenheit and January month is cold with 21.90 degrees Fahrenheit. The annual precipitation of the city is 41.80 inches and the wettest month is May with average rainfall of 4.22 inches.
