Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center is the companion facility to the museum on the National Mall. This building got opened in 2003 and provides ample space for the Smithsonian for displaying thousands of space and aviation artifacts, which cannot be exhibited on the National Mall. The Center museum features the large Boeing Aviation Hangar and is situated near the Washington Dulles International Airport.
