The state of Virginia in the United States has an independent city named as Danville. This city has more number of churches per square mile as compared to the other cities in the state and hence it is also called as the “city of churches.” This city is bounded by Caswell County, North Carolina and Pittsylvania County, Virginia. The total area of this city is 43.9 square miles out of which 43.1 square miles is land and the remaining is water. The Crescent train of Amtrack joins the city with New Orleans, Birmingham, Atlanta, Charlotte, Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York. The Amtrack station has its address as – 1337 Craghead Street.
As per the 2000 census, the population of Danville was 48,411.
