The Anacortes Arts and Crafts Festival started in 1962 started by Dr. Jack Papritz and a group of community arts patron. The first festival started in 1962 and was known as the longest art display in the world. At present, there are almost 150 volunteers who act as local ambassadors and who also contribute to the large community event. This festival also attracts many visitors from all parts of the world.
