Bainbridge Island is situated within the Central Puget Sound Basin to the east side of the Kitsap Peninsula and to the west of Seattle City. This Island has around 53 miles of shoreline and is five miles wide and ten miles long. The Island encompasses of 17,778 acres and is considered as the larger islands in Puget Sound.

The population of the Bainbridge Island as of 2008 estimates was 23,180. The area is estimated to about 27.78 square miles and was incorporated in 1947.

The annual average precipitation at Bainbridge Island is 53.96 inches. The wettest month of the year is December with an average rainfall of 9.07 inches. The climate is mild during summer when the temperature tends to be 60 degrees Fahrenheit and is cold during the winter with 40 degrees Fahrenheit. The warmest month is August temperature of 75.80 degrees Fahrenheit. The coldest month is January with 34.70 degrees Fahrenheit.
