The Fox Theater opened in 1930 and since then it has been a fixture in downtown of Centralia. The theater is a historic building and has showcased first run films, movie tone newsreels and also some best known vaudeville performers of the days. It was known that time as the finest playhouse between Seattle and Portland. This building was designed by architect Frank Wynkoop. Originally it had 1,200 seats on three levels and it was closed in 1998. It was sold to the nonprofit group Opera Pacifica in 2004.
