Goldendale is located in Washington at the heart Eastern Columbia River Gorge and is considered to be the County seat of Klickitat County.
Goldendale has an amazing picturesque with Mt Adams as the backdrop. This agricultural city got its name after John golden and established the city. And the city was incorporated in the year 1879.

 There was a time when this community went through an economic crisis. But the establishment of wind turbines has changed the scenario once again.

The place with the blend of rich cultural heritage and varied outdoor activities ,  offers a memorable trip to its visitors.

Since Goldendale is located in the arid area in the eastern part of Washington it is a rain shadow area, mainly due to Cascade Mountains. With an average rainfall of 8 to 12 inches this place gifts its visitors a landscape of brunch grass prairies dotted with sage brush and rabbit brush and a pleasant climate.  

Goldendale has an approximate population of 3760 according to 2000 census.
