Kennewick is a city in Benton County located in the south eastern part of the Washington State of United States of America. It is located along the southwest bank of the Columbia River. Kennewick is a town which got the name after a historic man who was found on the bank of Columbia River in 1996. Geographically, Kennewick is located at 46° 12’ 13” N and 119° 9’ 33” W. The city rises about 407 ft above the sea and has a total area of 24.3 square miles which comprises of 22.9 square miles of land and 1.4 square miles of water. As per census in 2000, the total population was 54,693 with a population density of 2384.9 per square mile. In 2008, Kennewick became the Slurpee Capital of the world. Kennewick city is the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League and the Arena Football League’s. They play their home games in the Toyota Centre. The city has Whites, Blacks, Native American, Asian, Pacific Islander and other races. Kennewick School District has elementary schools, middle schools, high schools and vocational schools.
