The gross area of Pasco is 30.2 square miles out of which 28.1 square miles is land and water fills about 2.1 square miles. The neighboring cities of Kennewick and Richland are separated from Pasco by the huge Columbia River. This river is on the southern border of Pasco. This city lies in the rain shadow region of the Cascade Mountain Range.
