Redmond is a city situated in King County in Washington, and is home of Microsoft and Nintendo of America. This city has a historic downtown which has lots of personally owned businesses and which is also connected to the modern downtown Redmond.
Redmond sits in a fertile basin which was created by ancient glaciers that once covered most of the King County. The Native Americans had settled here some 3,000 years ago and the first European settlers arrived in 1870s. This city is bordered by Kirkland to its west and Bellevue to the south west side. Sammamish is to its south east side.
The population of the city is 2000 was 45,256. In 2009, it reached to 49,427 people, reaching a population growth of 7.70 percent.
