Tourist Guide Richland
Richland is a city situated in Benton County and is in the southeastern part of the US state of Washington. Richland is one of the Tri-Cities of Washington and is home to the Hanford Nuclear site. Richland was incorporated in 1958 as a chartered First Class City an open self governed city. After the end of World War II, Richland continued to be a center of research and production into nuclear energy and such related technology.
As of 2000 census, the population of the city was 38,708. The 2007 estimates show the population as 45,070 people. In 2009, it reached 44,735 with a population growth of 15.40 percent.
Climate wise, the city gets 7 inches of rain and 8 inches of snowfall each year. Also, the city gets 196 sunny days each year. July is warm with 90 degrees and January is cold with 26 degrees.
As per the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 37.8 square miles of which 34.8 square miles is land and 2.9 square miles is water.
