The LIGO Hanford Observatory operates as one of the two of the largest gravitational wave interferometers in the world. At this observatory, there are activities the entire year which offer astronomy opportunities for all ages. There is a laser light which travels almost five miles through the desert from inside the evacuated steel tubes. This is an effort which is supported by the National Science Foundation which opens new doors to see the Universe.
