When to visit

The best time to visit Washington, weather wise is mid and late spring, which is, the months of May and June other than summer and autumn.

The high season to visit Washington is from June to September, with the low season being, from December to March. The winter season, especially December and January, receives heavy precipitation, and is also the least busy and the most reasonable time to visit.

Spring and fall is also a good alternative having discounted prices and fewer crowds for tourists who want to avoid crowds. Spring brings with it beautiful cherries that blossom and gardens bursting with colors. Fall brings with it leaves that turn to beautiful colors, and it is comfortable to walk around the entire day. The best part about visiting this state in the fall is that there are fewer crowds, which means, it becomes quite easy to visit museums, sights and many other destinations.

The best time to visit Washington depends on the sort of activities that one plans to do. Skiing and the resort season starts on November continuing till spring. Fall is the best time for elk and deer hunting in the mountains while in summers one can enjoy visiting the Cascades and the Olympic National Park.

Irrespective of climatic changes, any time is a good time to visit this state for a vacation. Many can visit in the month of March for attending the Cherry Blossom festival and in summers when the schools are closed. But, hotel prices do rise during this time, with restaurants reservation becoming hard to get and places like museums and monuments getting more crowded. So if one plans to visit the state at this time, he surely needs to book a hotel well in advance, at least three months prior to his visit.
