Yakima’s main attractions are its valleys and the great sunny weather. Early Summer is an ideal time to visit Yakima as the weather is just perfect, not too hot and comfortably warm.
When planning mountain-climbing, make sure to carry plenty of water bottles as up in the hills there will be no place to chill out and you will get progressively thirsty as you climb up.
The town has many nice restaurants to hang out, but finding them can prove a little difficult for the newcomers.
Mexican restaurants serve great delicacies, so be on the lookout for them. Mel’s Diner is another nice place to chill out and have coffee.
Two mountain passes are close to Yakima and one of them, Chinkook Pass, is open only during summers. These provide great camping spots with views of lush green forests and waterfalls.
