West Memphis is located on the River Mississippi in Crittenden County in Arkansas, USA. It is the largest city of the county with an area of around 27 sq km and a population of approximately 29,000.
Mound Builders, a tribe of the Native Americans, are believed to be the earliest inhabitants of this region.
Hernando Desoto was the first European to visit this area. It was incorporated as a city in 1923, and since, it has been a great tourist destination.
The terrain of this city consists of meadows, brooks, beautiful lakes, hills, rivers, parks and much more. West Memphis experiences hot summers, whereas the winters are cold. Summer temperatures are normally around 30° C, and in winter, the temperature is about 7°C.
The city can be visited both during summers as well as winters, but spring and fall are the favourite seasons of the tourists. The strong economy of this city is dependent on tourism, services and manufacturing.
