West Virginia boasts of some of the most unique attractions. The Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine takes the visitors underground in this former mine, explaining the process of mining. Located in the rich mountains of Appalachia are the beautiful trails of Hatfield-McCoy Regional Recreational Authority, ideal for dirt biking, horse riding and walking. The Monongahela National Forest houses a variety of wild animals and a bird sanctuary.
Harpers Ferry, a small town in West Virginia, houses the John Brown Wax Museum, a site definitely worth seeing. The New River Gorge National Park is one of the most beautiful sites of the state, boasting of a series of rapids interspersed with some stunning views.
Celebrating various festivals, West Virginia hosts popular events like the Oktoberfest, held in Bramwell. Then, there are the traditional festivals like the Strawberry Festival, celebrated to promote strawberry harvest.
