This place is named after Hurricane Creek. The name came into existence after the group of trees at the river bent in one direction. Then a party of surveyors that was started by General George Washington and that site was stroke by Hurricane.
Hurricane as a town was incorporated in the year 1888 and as a city in the year 1970s.
The urban culture came to this town during the period of 1990s and several sub urbans limits were formed. One can find beautiful landscape a rich history and a warm hospitality in this city.
The population of this town according to the census of 2000 comes to the figure of 5,222. Many young as well middle aged people come to this place to settle due to its attractive picturesque.
