Moundsville is located in the Marshall County of West Virginia on the river side of Ohio.
It is one of the parts of Wheeling Metropolitan Statistical area. Earlier the city was named as Grave Creek Mound. In the year 1771 Moundsville was inhabited by Samuel and James Tomlinson. Then the town of Tomlinson’s community was incorporated after that the two communities: the town of Mound city as well as Tomlinson’s community both merged together in the year 1865.
The city has a rich cultural heritage with a growing family community. Moundsville also has a bright future with good education institutes, blue collared work force and charming beauty.
With an estimated population of 9,998 this place consist of mixed race such as White, Native American, Asian and Pacific Islander.
The city experiences a pleasant climate that draws tourists throughout the year. it is one of the best place to spend vacation.
