Oak Hill is a city which is situated in Fayatte County in West Virginia. It is the primary city within the Oak Hill, WV Micropolitan Statistical Area. The micropolitan area is even included in the Beckley-Oak Hill which is the WV Combined Statistical Area.
According to the 2000 census, the population of the Oak Hill was 7,589. As of the United States Census Bureau, this city has a total area of 4.8 square miles, all of which is land.
This city was incorporated in 1905 and this name was derived from the community’s first post office. By late 1960s, Oak Hill had grown into one of the 20 largest cities in West Virginia.
