West Liberty is a city situated in Ohio County, West Virginia, United States. West Liberty was the county seat from 1777 to 1797. West Liberty is the home of West Liberty State College.As per the census in 2000, the total population was 1220 with a population density of 724.7 per km. It is located at 40° 9’ 56” N 80° 35’ 41” W. The city has Whites, African American, Native American, Asian, Hispanic and other races. West Liberty has a total area of 1.7km. The town rises 1,224 ft from the sea level.West Liberty is a part of the Wheeling Metropolitan Statistical area, which consists of two counties in the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia.
