Wildwood is a resort city located in Cape May County in New Jersey, USA. It lies on a barrier island that faces the Atlantic Ocean.
In 1912, the Wildwood Borough and Holly Beach City were incorporated into one city called ‘Wildwood’. The five communities of Wildwood North Wildwood, West Wildwood, Wildwood Crest and Diamond Beach now form the ‘The Wildwoods Resort’.
Wildwood experiences summer temperatures of around 21°C, while in the cold winters it can fall to around –1°C. In July, the hottest month, mercury levels rise as high as 30°C.
The city has a population of more than 5,000 people, but that figure increases ten-fold during vacation time. The resort city is extremely popular among tourists from the neighbouring states and even parts of Canada. Wildwood’s economy is heavily powered by shore tourism.
