Delavan is a city which is situated in Walworth County in Wisconsin. The population of the city was 7,956 as of 2000 census. This city is located within the Delavan Town.
There are many historic buildings which are located at 52 E Walworth Avenue and which were built in 1841. Between 1847 and 1894, Delavan was home to almost 26 circus companies. The Mabie Brothers US Olympic Circus was then known as the largest circus in America. They arrived in this city in 1847 and became the first circus to quarter in the Wisconsin territory.
There has been immense growth to Delavan city since 2000 census, and this also includes the addition of many stores which started in a new strip of mall area. As per the United States Census Bureau, Delavan has a total area of 6.8 square miles, of which, 6.4 square miles is land and 0.4 square miles is water. Delavan gets 32 inches of rain and 38 inches of snowfall each year.
