Janesville is located in southern Wisconsin, United States. It is the principal municipality of the Janesville, Wisconsin Metropolitan Statistical Area and the county seat of Rock County. It is called by the name “Wisconsin’s Park Place” or “City of Parks”.Janesville has a total area of 28.1 square miles. Out of that 27.5 square miles is land and 0.6 square miles is water.The city is divided by the Rock River. The location co-ordinates of Janesville are 42041’22”N and 8900’59”W.The climate is warm during summer when the temperature is 70 degrees and very cold during winter when the temperature is 20 degrees. The average maximum temperature will be 83.80 degrees Fahrenheit in July, the warmest month of the year and the average minimum temperature will be 8.60 degrees Fahrenheit in January, the coldest month of the year.According to the 2000 census the city had a population of 59,498 with a population density 2,160.6 people per square mile i.e. 834.2 per square kilo meters.
