Madison Opera is an outstanding regional opera company presenting fully staged opera productions at Overture Center for Arts. For 46 years, the mission of Madison Opera has been to serve the Greater Madison community by presenting high-quality, professional productions. Through its exploration of new works, outreach programs to diverse communities and cultivation of audiences of all ages, Madison Opera engages and awakens new audiences to the joys of opera.
During the 2006-2007 season, Madison Opera will present Verdi’s RIGOLETTO and Bizet’s THE PEARL FISHERS, as well as a recital by opera sensation, NATHAN GUNN. In addition, Madison Opera will continue to offer its popular new series OPERA UP CLOSE, as well its summer offering, OPERA IN THE PARK, a Madison tradition.
