Tourist Guide Sheboygan
Sheboygan is located at the eastern border of the state of Wisconsin in the USA. The first settlers in this area were almost two hundred years ago when a fur trading post was set up in this area. Eventually, a saw mill flanked by two log cabins was set up here and by the middle of the nineteenth century a bustling village had come up.
Sheboygan’s location along the Lake Michigan at the mouth of Sheboygan River led to its development as a port. A few years later docks were built and the harbour was dredged to accommodate more large vessels.
While there are no active ports in the city now, it is the chief administrative centre of the Sheboygan County. The city has a population of approximately 50,000 inhabitants.
Summers in Sheboygan are pleasant with the temperatures ranging between 16°C and 27°C. January is the coldest month with the average minimum temperature at –10.5°C.
