Sturgeon Bay is located in the north eastern part of the state of Wisconsin in the USA. The city of Sturgeon Bay which has a population of approximately 9,400 inhabitants is the chief administrative centre of the county.
The temperatures in summer range between an average maximum of 26°C and minimum of 18°C. January is the coldest month of the year; the average minimum temperature at this time is –13°C.
The region was popular with Native American tribes, and for decades, several tribes settled here. After the Europeans settled here, the city became an important administrative and cultural centre.
Sturgeon Bay is situated along the Green Bay stretch of Lake Michigan, and thus, the sea plays an important role in its economy. The city has some well-developed maritime industries as well as recreational facilities, and the standard of living is high.
